Apricot Iced Tea Recipe – Best Summer Drinks for 2024

This tasty and delicious apricot iced tea recipe is so refreshing and will wow any guest at your next summer cookout. It is so easy to make and only requires 5 ingredients! I’m not sure who doesn’t like a glass of fruity uplifting Apricot tea on a hot summer day.

Apricot iced tea recipe

This recipe is made with celestial mandarin orange tea bags which you can usually find at any local supermarket. I chose this tea because it is caffeine free. That way I can enjoy a glass any time of the day and it is kid friendly. Although you can use a black tea, or green tea as well if you don’t mind the caffeine for a stronger flavor. This Apricot iced tea recipe yields 4 servings although you can always double or triple the recipe depending on your needs. This recipe is vegan, gluten free and caffeine free.

Ingredient notes

  • 4 celestial mandarin orange tea bags: Tea sachets make the cleanup allot easier than using loose leaf tea although I have made this with a loose-leaf tea and it came out just the same, with a little more cleanup.
  • 1/3 cup fresh mint: Feel free to use any fresh mint you would like, whether it’s from the supermarket or your garden. You can also use mint tea bags as well, Although the fresh mint will really make this drink pop!
  • 1/3 cup cane sugar: I normally use organic cane sugar, although any sugar you have on hand will work, you can also use agave syrup, honey, or choose to make this drink sugar free as the apricot nectar is sweet as well.
  • 4 1/4 cup filtered water: If you can I would recommend using filtered, or spring water for this drink.
  • 3 1/2 cups Apricot nectar: Any apricot nectar will work; I use the one by Jumex because it is 100 percent juice and is inexpensive as well as just plain easy to find everywhere even if you live in a rural area.
  • Ice: Of course you will need ice for iced tea! Any ice will work.

Apricot iced tea instructions

  • Place tea bags, sugar, and fresh mint into a heatproof pitcher.
  • In a saucepan bring your 4 1/2 cups of water to a boil, let sit for two minutes then pour over your tea bags, mint and sugar.
  • Let cool for 20 minutes, then add your 3 1/2 cups of apricot nectar.
  • Let cool while covered, you can serve over ice as soon as it has cooled or let sit in the fridge for up to 5 days. Be sure to remove tea bags once the tea has set for about an hour.

Pro tips

  • As listed above be sure to remove tea bags after about an hour. Ensuring the tea doesn’t become bitter, and the tea bags don’t bust open causing your sister in-law to get a mouthful of tea herbs!
  • Feel free to add or takeaway whatever you so desire in this recipe! The great thing about iced tea is that it is versatile, and you can play around with it. You can add lemon for more of a citrus taste, use different tea bags, make your own homemade apricot nectar or juice to use in your apricot iced tea recipe.
  • Try it hot! Feel free to even try this as a hot drink for the colder months or early morning pick me up. If its autumn, try adding cinnamon or cloves to steep with the tea. Amazing!
